Financial Aid

Getting unemployment or other state benefits? Epicodus is an Eligible Training Provider in Oregon and Washington, which means you generally can continue to receive your benefits while enrolled at Epicodus.

Need affordable high-speed internet? Check out these resources for Portland and Seattle.

Getting an ISA, loan, or grant? If you’re receiving financial aid through a loan, grant, or other third-party payer, there are a couple things to be aware of:

  • If you are part or all of your tuition with a loan or grant, you’ll pay the standard tuition (not the up-front discount).

  • To reserve your spot in class, you’ll need to pay your deposit and be approved for your loan or grant. Until you are approved, your spot is not reserved.

  • We will accept the loan or grant payment during week two of class.

Scholarships for Full-Length Program

Epicodus offers full scholarship for 1-4 people from underrepresented racial groups (especially Latinx, Black, and indigenous people) as well as transgender and gender nonconforming people. This scholarship is need-based and reserved for students who have exhausted other options to fun their tuition.

To apply for a scholarship, please fill out this form and notify your advisor during the application process. The last day to apply for a scholarship for January 2, 2024 classes is Sunday, November 19.

Scholarships for Part-Time Intro to Programming Classes

Part-time Intro to Programming tuition is reduced to $25 for people who are unemployed or making under 150% of the federal poverty line. Send proof of income (tax returns, pay stubs, unemployment, etc.) after registering to show your eligibility.

Loans and ISA

For students who aren't able to afford Epicodus's tuition up-front, we're able to provide financial aid in the form of loans or income share agreements from financing companies we've partnered with.

Our partnerships allow most students to get aid, even if they don't have stellar credit. Because the loans are provided by other companies, we have no control over their underwriting process and terms.

Applying with our financing partners, Mia Share, Ascent, and Climb, is free and takes less than 10 minutes. Loan applications through Skills Fund and Climb may be completed at any point in the application process for both the web development and data engineering programs. For students enrolling in our web development program, your advisor can provide you with an application for Mia Share’s ISA program after you’re accepted into Epicodus.

Epicodus students aren't eligible for traditional student loans through the US Department of Education.

Un-/Under-Employment Retraining

Oregon and Washington states have funds for employment retraining that can help pay your Epicodus tuition. They give priority to people who are receiving public assistance, unemployed, low-income, and veterans. They require funding be approved by them before your first day of class. For more information, find your local office in Oregon or Washington.
